S400 Z-Axis Limit Switch Function

 

Enter Diagnostics Mode by turning on the machine and when it starts to initialize pressing the HD icon that appears.

 

The Z-axis table will NOT move if the limit switch is pressed or stuck in the pressed position - This also depends on which one - For example if the top limit switch is pressed the table will not move up however it will move down - 

 

If the down limit switch is pressed the table will not move down but will move up assuming the top sensor is not pressed

 

And if BOTH are stuck in the pressed position - the table will NOT move up or down.

As for bypassing - I would follow the switch to the connector - Not to the mainboard - 

 

Disconnect at the connection and use a Jumper to bypass.
