Max Volume 9000 Series Tech Memo

Procedure for determining Maximum Volume: with included pipe-work, hoses or attached process. For Purex 9000 Series Digital Fume Extractors.

Note: this procedure should only be completed with new clean filters installed. The process should be checked for restrictions in airflow and cleanliness.

1.) With machine running from the Operators screen. Press the center button to Stop.

2.) Press the left and right arrow simultaneously. All four arrows should blink. This will prompt you to enter the “Engineers Password”. Press the down arrow twice, the number displayed should change to 498. Then the right arrow once to enter the next menu. (***NOTE this is a timed process, you have five seconds to enter the correct password.) 

3.) The engineering screen will appear: press the down arrow 3 times to underline Max Volume.

4.) Take note of the original/current value. Press the left arrow. The word calibrating appears in the lower left corner. The blower motor will run at the full speed, and determine the amount of air flow that is possible.

5.) After calibration is completed, a new value should now be displayed. Take note of new value.

6.) Press the up arrow 4 times to exit menu and return to operating screen. Start and stop blower to save changes.

7.) Run unit and adjust speed as described in operator’s manual to a value that is approximately half that of new Max Volume value for best results in filter life. Process may require more airflow and this may affect filter life.
