800i Cable AMP Voltage

800i Models: 080500D, 080501D, 080504D, 080506D, 080503D, 080502D, 080505D, 080507D

Question: Both plates list the voltage as 120V, but then right after that it says 32A, which I assume is 32amps. This seems like maybe a mislabel as the machine came with a 20A plug and the rated power listed on the plate lists 2.4kW. I would still like to confirm that we don't need to upsize our circuits to accommodate the higher amp draw.

Manuf. Reply: We supply the 20A plug to use in a 20A dedicated circuit for the machine. In regular use, the machine never uses the full 32A, unless it goes full blast, which only happens when the filter is fully clogged and used for a long time. In the 20A dedicated circuit, which the plug is for, the breaker will pop out first and getting the plug damage. Client always has the option to remove the plug and hardwire it to a 32A circuit.

Subject: 800i Power Requirements.

All Purex 9000 series 800i 120 VAC units sold into the USA should now be marked as having the following power requirements on the serial number plate: Part No: 0805XXX Serial No: XXXXXX Model 800i XX Voltage: 120 VAC • 32 A Frequency: 50/60Hz Rated Power: 2.4kW Date Manufactured: MM/DD/YYYY The note of 32A is made after the Voltage. This amperage note is made at the request of TUV certification and is required for UL and CSA compliance. This figure is determined based on the following: • Combined blower motors full potential is 32Amps. • Inrush at max speed. • Failure of proper operation of the PCB • Improper fuses installed 800i units with input voltage of 120 VAC having a power rating of 2.4kW have a fused potential equivalent of 25 Amp. The digital control board limits the operation of the blower motors by controlling the speed at which they can run. In normal operation, the 800i will typically run consuming below 18 Amps. The use of 120 VAC units require a 20 Amp dedicated circuit (min) to be made available for proper operation.
